Many adolescent girls in Ghana’s rural regions don’t go to school when they are menstruating. One reason is that they are too poor to buy sanitary pads, so they stay at home for their period.
This situation is worrying and unfair as these girls are forced to miss out on their education and denied their academic progression because of this natural, biological function.
Join the call to improve girl-child education here in Ghana by making sanitary pads free and accessible to all girls under the age of 20 who are in school.
